Anderson Township Fire and Rescue Division received a $104,340 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG, CFDA 97.044) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded on September 27, 2025, with a performance period through September 26, 2027. The grant supports firefighting equipment purchases, fire prevention and safety initiatives, and port security enhancements for the Anderson Township community in Ohio.
The AFG program, administered by FEMA, is designed to enhance public and firefighter safety with respect to fire and fire-related hazards. Grant funding is utilized by fire departments and emergency services organizations to equip and train personnel to recognized standards, acquire emergency response vehicles and equipment, implement health and wellness programs, and strengthen operational capabilities. Anderson Township's award represents continued federal investment in the department's emergency response infrastructure, following a prior AFG award of $175,600 in January 2023 and a $513,210 Port Security Grant Program award in August 2022.
