The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded a $115,500 Project Grant to the Rocky Ridge Fire District in Mountain Brook, AL. This grant is funded through FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program (CFDA 97.044), which aims to enhance public and firefighter safety related to fire and fire-related hazards.
The grant funding will enable the Rocky Ridge Fire District to obtain firefighting and emergency response equipment and resources to better serve its community. This includes the purchase of radios to improve communication capabilities for first responders. Additionally, the Rocky Ridge Fire District previously received a sub-award grant from the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency to also acquire radios and enhance communication systems for local first responders.
