About this award

The Scioto Valley Fire Department was awarded a $235,490.18 Project Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. The goal of the AFG program is to enhance public and firefighter safety related to fires and fire hazards. Funds will support the Scioto Valley Fire Department in La Rue, OH in delivering services to enhance safety from August 2022 through August 2024. As the AFG program objectives include providing critically needed equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and other resources needed to protect the public and emergency personnel from fire-related hazards, it can reasonably be inferred these funds will aid the fire department in obtaining such resources to improve local emergency response capabilities and firefighter protection.
