The Modoc Volunteer Fire Department was awarded a $1,757,810.80 Project Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG Program, CFDA #97.044). The grant will support the Department's efforts to enhance public and firefighter safety with respect to fire and fire-related hazards through September 2024.

As the goal of the AFG Program is to enhance safety for the public and firefighters, the funding will likely allow the Department to provide critical fire protection and emergency response services to the community of Modoc, SC through the acquisition of vehicles, equipment, protective gear, emergency medical supplies, training, or other resources.
