The City of Tarpon Springs Fire Department was awarded a $1,857,666 Project Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant program. The goal of the three-year grant project is to assist the City in improving staffing and deployment capabilities of its fire department to adequately respond to emergencies and protect the community from fire and fire-related hazards. Funding will support related services and products through August 2026. The SAFER grant program aims to help local fire departments enhance compliance with staffing, response and operational standards.
