The County of Laurens, Georgia was awarded a $253,800 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to support staffing and deployment capabilities for responding to emergencies from November 2021 through November 2025.
The SAFER grant program, administered under the Assistance Listing Number 97.083 by FEMA, aims to help local fire departments ensure communities have adequate protection from fire and fire-related hazards. For this project grant, the County of Laurens and Laurens County Sheriff Department will utilize the funding to enhance staffing and deployment efforts in order to respond effectively to emergencies in Dublin, Georgia and surrounding areas.
