The Department of Energy's Office of Science has awarded a $250,000 Project Grant to Quasar Energy Group LLC to support the "Integration of Biogas Upgrading and Enzyme-Boosted CO2 Mineralization for Eco-Friendly and Cost-Effective Production of Synthetic Aggregates" project. This 1-year project, which began on July 22, 2024, aims to develop innovative technologies that transform organic waste into valuable resources. Key objectives include advancing biogas upgrading processes and enzyme-assisted CO2 mineralization to enable the production of eco-friendly synthetic building aggregates. Quasar Energy Group, a Cleveland-based waste-to-energy and biotechnology company, will leverage its expertise in anaerobic digestion, waste processing, and sustainable technologies to deliver these transformative research and development outcomes. The project aligns with the Office of Science Financial Assistance Program's (CFDA 81.049) mission to support fundamental scientific research that can advance U.S. energy, economic, and national security priorities through innovative discoveries.
