Fundacion Americounsel Corp received a $271,000 Project Grant award dated September 29, 2025, under the Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) program (CFDA 10.351), funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Business Cooperative Services. This award extends through September 29, 2027, and supports disaster recovery initiatives specifically designed to strengthen rural economic development in Puerto Rico. The grant enables Fundacion Americounsel Corp to provide technical assistance and business development services to small and emerging private businesses in designated rural areas characterized by low incomes and high unemployment, with particular emphasis on job creation and preservation.

The organization will deliver targeted economic growth support to rural small businesses and communities throughout Puerto Rico, leveraging the grant funding to address disaster recovery needs while advancing sustainable economic development. As an intermediary grantee, Fundacion Americounsel Corp will assist eligible businesses employing 50 or fewer new employees and generating less than $1 million in projected gross revenue, consistent with the program's focus on supporting small and emerging enterprises in economically disadvantaged rural communities.
