About this award
The Trumbull County Historical Society in Warren, Ohio will receive $115,723 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the National Leadership Grants program (CFDA 45.312) to expand digital collections training and establish a county-wide online platform. The Society will purchase scanners and five-year software subscriptions for 16 collecting institutions throughout Trumbull County. It will co-teach digital collections management and collections care/handling. The Society will also mentor each group to upload 500 catalogue entries to a county hub and maintain protocols to sustain a robust online environment. Conservation consultants will provide on-site training and oversee projects. This funding will allow the Society to build upon its prior work digitizing 6,000 entries during the pandemic to make collections accessible online, and enable 16 additional local institutions to participate in a shared digital platform.
