AWARD PURPOSE THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE QUALITY PRE-APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING IN HEALTHCARE (PATH) TO FILL A VITAL NEED IN PREPARING AND TRAINING INDIVIDUALS TO BE READY FOR RAPS AND EMPLOYMENT LEADING TO INCREASED DIVERSITY AND EQUITY IN HEALTHCARE THROUGHOUT THE SIX REGIONS WITHIN THE STATE OF ALASKA. ACTIVITIES PERFORMED BUILD TALENT PIPELINES LEADING TO RAPS BY DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING A PLAN FOR EXPANDING PATH ACADEMIES; SUPPORTING EFFORTS TO EXPAND THE NUMBER OF RAP HEALTHCARE OCCUPATIONS IN ALASKA; BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS WITH EDUCATORS AND EMPLOYERS THAT PROMOTE APPRENTICESHIP; AND BUILDING A PIPELINE TO RAP THROUGH PATH ACADEMIES. DELIVERABLES 560 STUDENTS WILL ENROLL IN AND COMPLETE PATH ACADEMIES WITHIN THE FOUR YEARS PROJECT PERIOD AND BE WELL POSITIONED AND PREPARED TO ENTER THE HEALTHCARE FIELD AS AN APPRENTICE, EMPLOYEE, OR COLLEGE STUDENT. A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN APCA AND ALASKA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY (APU) PROVIDES THOSE WHO COMPLETE ONE OF APCA'S HEALTHCARE REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIPS WITH UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE FROM APU, COMPRISED OF 24-41 CREDITS THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO OBTAINING TWO-OR FOUR-YEAR DEGREES IN HEALTH SCIENCES. INTENDED BENEFICIARY ALASKA NATIVES, INDIGENOUS AMERICANS, ASIAN AMERICANS, PACIFIC ISLANDERS, BLACK AND LATINO, WOMEN, VETERANS, LOW-INCOME, PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, AND LGBTQ+. SUBRECIPIENT ACTIVITIES NO SUBRECIPIENTS. CONTRACT WITH THE REGIONAL AHECS TO EXPAND PATH ACADEMIES STATEWIDE.
