The siskiyou county economic development council will bolster the agricultural sector within siskiyou county addressing a severe crisis precipitated by persistent drought repeated wildfires and increasing environmental pressures impacting small farms. Recognizing the urgent need for resilience this project focuses on expanding market opportunities for siskiyou producers aiming to foster business viability and connect local farms with regional institutional food buyers. This project will support farmers ranchers and processors by providing technical assistance to develop robust business plans and strategies and identify gaps in necessary infrastructure and supply chain partners. The core of this effort is to establish a strong longterm connection between local agricultural stakeholders and institutional buyers facilitating the movement of goods and supporting a thriving farmtoinstitution economy.
