THIS AGREEMENT PROVIDES FUNDING UNDER THE ADDITIONAL SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR DISASTER RELIEF ACT, 2019, (PUBLIC LAW 116-20) TO THE COMMONWEALTH OF NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS, DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY TO BUILD CAPACITY IN MANAGING POST-STORM SOLID WASTE ISSUES DUE TO TYPHOON YUTU. THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO INCREASE SOLID WASTE REGULATORY CAPACITY TO ADDRESS POST-STORM SOLID WASTE ISSUES, DEVELOP AND REGULATE LONG-TERM SUSTAINABLE SOLID AND ZERO WASTE PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESSES HISTORIC SHORTCOMINGS, AND INCREASE PREPAREDNESS OF THEIR SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS FROM FUTURE STORMS. THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT PROVIDE FULL FEDERAL FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $526,119. PREAWARD COSTS ARE APPROVED BACK TO MARCH 1, 2021.
