About this award
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) awarded a $426,857 Project Grant under the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance High Priority Activities Grants and Cooperative Agreements program (CFDA 20.237) to the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). The goal of this 2-year project is to improve large truck data analysis using a systematic crash chain and contributing factor classification system based on the Federal Aviation Administration's Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS). This research effort aims to enhance the quantity and quality of human factors data collected during commercial motor vehicle accident investigations, in order to inform data-driven intervention strategies. TTI, a prominent transportation research organization within the Texas A&M University System, will execute this project as the prime awardee.
