About this award

This Project Grant award from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance High Priority Activities Grants and Cooperative Agreements program (CFDA 20.237) provides $1,115,248 to the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) to support two key objectives:

  1. Purchasing 4-year extended warranties for automated tire pressure anomaly and brake thermal imaging technologies at 5 fixed commercial motor vehicle (CMV) enforcement stations across Wyoming. This will help maintain and support these safety technologies to benefit the motor carrier industry by enabling reductions in CMV crashes and fatalities.

  2. Funding 4 years of operations and maintenance costs for WYDOT's CVIEWPLUS system. This will allow WYDOT to remain compliant with FMCSA's Innovative Technology Deployment (ITD) program and continue core safety applications such as vehicle/driver inspections, crash data, and credential verification. The award was made on September 1, 2024 and is set to be completed by September 30, 2028.
