The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration awarded $796,000 to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles under the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance High Priority Activities Grants and Cooperative Agreements program (CFDA 20.237) for the period of July 1, 2022 through September 30, 2026. The funding will support the development of Commercial Vehicle Information Exchange Window dashboards and travel projects that aim to minimize delays for commercial drivers, carriers, and vehicles during screening and inspection processes. This will increase the reliability of screening systems and carrier mobility while maintaining a level playing field across carriers. Related travel is an essential program activity to ensure ongoing information exchange between Texas, FMCSA, and other states to advance Texas', other states', and national programs.
