Description
Award purpose.worc purpose: in alignment with the JUSTICE40 initiative, the purpose of the worc initiative grants is to create economic mobility, address historic inequities for marginalized communities of color, rural areas, and other underserved and underrepresented communities, and produce high-quality employment outcomes for workers who live or work in the appalachian, delta, and northern border regions, enabling them to remain and thrive in these communities. Project title: career pathway entry program plus (cpep )grantee region: nbrcdeliverables expected outcomes.total participants: 150PARTICIPANTS obtaining new or enhanced employment: 100INTENDED beneficiaries.target population: people with disabilities, people who were formerly incarcerated, new americans, veterans, high school students, and people in poverty.areas to be served: state of vermontactivities to be performed.summary of project: the community college of vermonts (CCV) career pathway entry program plus initiative aims to serve every geographic region of vermont, focusing on addressing the current labor market needs within the state. As a statewide community college with twelve physical locations and a robust online program, CCV has the ability to offer programming statewide and through in-person, online, and hybrid formats. To ensure our efforts are aligned with industry demand, we have identified three key sectors in vermont: advanced manufacturing, information technology, and healthcare. CCV has partners in these industries around the state, and we have identified three key partners through our partner letters: beta technologies, UVM health network, and the executive of the state workforce board. By understanding sector-specific needs and capacity, we can tailor our career pathways entry program plus program (cpep ) to effectively prepare individuals for high-wage, high-growth careers in these industries, while giving them an opportunity for a true earn and learn experience. Cpep will combine a 6-week educational experience with a 4-week paid job shadow, which will lead to an apprenticeship.subrecipient activities. The recipient does not intend to subaward funds.
