PROGRAM PURPOSE AWARD PURPOSE: THE PURPOSE OF THIS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM IS TO SUPPORT TRANSFORMATIVE EFFORTS TO IMPROVE JOB QUALITY AND AVAILABILITY OF GOOD JOBS, PARTICULARLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF HISTORICALLY MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS AND COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT IN GOOD JOBS. THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF THESE DEMONSTRATION GRANTS IS EXPANDING JOB QUALITY IN THE CARE, CLIMATE RESILIENCY, AND HOSPITALITY SECTORS. THIS IS A TIER 1 PLANNING GRANT TO SUPPORT THE FORMATION OF WORKER-CENTERED SECTOR PARTNERSHIPS IN LOCAL OR REGIONAL ECONOMIC AREAS TO DESIGN WORKFORCE STRATEGIES TO ENHANCE EQUITY AND JOB QUALITY WITHIN THE CARE, CLIMATE RESILIENCY, AND HOSPITALITY SECTORS.ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: THE CU-HCAC WILL USE STACKABLE CREDENTIALING AS A STRATEGY FOR DISLOCATED WORKERS TO BUILD THE SKILLS NEEDED TO CHANGE CAREERS, INDIVIDUALS PREPARING TO ENTER THE WORKFORCE TO STAND OUT FROM THEIR PEERS AND CREATE A PATHWAY FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN ENTRY LEVEL POSITIONS IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY TO ADVANCE. THE INCORPORATION OF STAKEHOLDER PERSPECTIVES IN THE PLANNING OF THE CURRICULUM WILL HELP ENSURE THAT THE EMPLOYERS, WORKERS, AND TRAINERS INFORM THE STRATEGY USED AND PROMOTE INCLUSIVITY THROUGH DATA-INFORMED DECISION-MAKING. FOUR GOALS WILL DRIVE THE STRATEGIC EFFORTS OF THE CU-HCAC: 1) CREATE PATHWAYS FOR CAREER ADVANCEMENT WITHIN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY. 2) INCREASE SOCIAL CAPITOL OF ENTRY LEVEL WORKERS WHO ARE BLACK AND LATINX PERSONS. 3) ALIGN TRAINING PROGRAMS WITH WORKER NEEDS SO THAT THEY ARE WORTHWHILE AND EFFECTIVE IN CLOSING SKILL GAPS. 4) CREATE A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO SUPPORTING CAREER ADVANCEMENT.DELIVERABLES EXPECTED OUTCOMES: APPLICANTS IDENTIFY THE KEY JOB QUALITY MEASURES THAT WILL BE USED TO TRACK GRANT PROGRESS IN MEETING MILESTONES.INTENDED BENEFICIARIES: HISTORICALLY MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS.SUBRECIPIENT ACTIVITIES: SUBRECIPIENT ACTIVITIES ARE ALLOWABLE UNDER THIS AWARD TO CARRYOUT PROJECT ACTIVITIES.
