WORKS PROPOSES TO HAVE 90 PUBLIC HEALTH AMERICORPS MEMBERS WHO WILL PROVIDE DIRECT SERVICE THROUGH THE PROVISION OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO LOCAL COMMUNITIES, BUILD ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY, RECRUIT AND MANAGE VOLUNTEERS, AND ENGAGE IN OUTREACH FOR COVID-19 RESPONSE AND RECOVERY EFFORTS AT ORGANIZATIONS AND AGENCIES WITH PROGRAMMING FOR UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION. AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL LEVERAGE 500 VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL BE ENGAGED IN COVID-19 AND PANDEMIC INFORMATION OUTREACH AND VACCINE CLINIC OUTREACH AND OUTREACH FOR SOCIAL SERVICES AND HEALTHCARE ACCESSIBILITY. AFTER THEIR YEAR OF SERVICE, 25 AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL PURSUE FUTURE ENGAGEMENT IN THE PUBLIC HEALTH SECTOR.
