THE INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED LEARNING AND RESEARCH FOUNDATION (INSTITUTE) PROPOSES TO HAVE 15 AMERICORPS MEMBERS (7.5 MSY) WHO WILL EXPAND CAPACITY FOR PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE BY PROVIDING DIRECT OUTREACH AND EDUCATION SERVICE IN THE CITY OF DANVILLE (VA), PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY (VA) AND CASWELL COUNTY (NC). AT THE END OF THE FIRST PROGRAM YEAR, AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SERVING 960 INDIVIDUALS, INCREASING THEIR HEALTH KNOWLEDGE AND HEALTHY BEHAVIORS THROUGH EDUCATION, OUTREACH, REFERRALS AND COVID RESPONSE. IN ADDITION, THE AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL LEVERAGE A MINIMUM OF 45 VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL BE ENGAGED IN SUPPORTING PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATION ACTIVITIES.
