Description
Idaho integrated pest management extension implementation program (IPM-EIP) responds to clientele needs identified by statewide surveys, regional advisory boards, our priority area and UI priority extension teams, and pest management strategic plans. Our three-year goal is to increase IPM adoption among small grain, potato, sugar beet, mint, onion, HOP, dry PEA, and organic producers and their advisors, homeowners, and idaho private and commercial pesticide applicators. We will develop videos, on-site IPM training, and hands-on workshops, deliver webinars, design and implement an IPM curriculum for master gardeners, convene IPM in-service professional development workshops for extension faculty, revise and publish manuals, IPM strategic plans, factsheets, and create a new IPM website. We are also committed to ensuring all previously invested-in pest advisory and decision tools are up-to-date and maintain their service. As a part of our mission to facilitate timely and accurate reporting to our stakeholders, we will develop a centralized data management/presentation dashboard.desired long-term outcomes are to mitigate adverse environmental impacts of current pest control practices while improving profitability. We especially seek to enhance the perceived public value of extension IPM.
