THE PROPOSED PROJECT WILL SUPPORT CLOSING THE DIGITAL EQUITY GAP AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A STATEWIDE DIGITAL EQUITY PLAN. THE PROPOSED PROJECT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT PLAN DEVELOPMENT: BUILD A COALITION OF COMMUNITY ANCHOR INSTITUTION, LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, AREA APPLICATION AGENCIES, TRIBAL REPRESENTATION, NON-PROFITS, AND OTHERS TO ESTABLISH A VISION FOR THE FUTURE GROUNDED IN THE PRINCIPLES OF DIGITAL EQUITY AND DIGITAL INCLUSION; HIRE ONE FULL-TIME STAFF MEMBER TO COORDINATE AND LEAD THE STATE'S PLANNING ACTIVITIES. THE STAFF MEMBER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A DIGITAL EQUITY PLAN FOR THE STATE OF IOWA, THIS WILL INCLUDE TRAVELING FOR REGIONAL MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES AS THE NEED ARISES; PROCURE A DIGITAL EQUITY PLANNING VENDOR TO ASSIST WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PLAN. THIS WILL INCLUDE DEVELOPING A COORDINATION AND OUTREACH STRATEGY, ASSISTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ASSET INVENTORY, FACILITATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN INCLUSIVE VISION FOR DIGITAL EQUITY IN IOWA. THE PROPOSED PROJECT WILL RESULT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A ROBUST STATE DIGITAL EQUITY PLAN THAT WILL BENEFIT THE STATE OF IOWA AND PRINCIPALLY UNSERVED AND UNDERSERVED COVERED POPULATIONS STATEWIDE. THE RECIPIENT DOES NOT PLAN TO SUBAWARD FUNDS.
