EXECUTIVE SUMMARY GOODWILL NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND'S MULTILINGUAL LEADERSHIP CORPS PROPOSES TO HAVE 20 AMERICORPS MEMBERS WHO WILL SUPPORT ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING YOUTH (PRIMARILY REFUGEE AND IMMIGRANT YOUTH) IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NON-PROFITS AND SCHOOLS ACROSS MAINE, NEW HAMPSHIRE AND VERMONT. AT THE END OF THE FIRST PROGRAM YEAR, THE AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING 250 YOUTH WITH MENTORING TO IMPROVE THEIR STABILITY AND ACADEMICS. IN ADDITION, THE AMERICORPS MEMBERS WILL LEVERAGE AT LEAST 10 VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL BE ENGAGED IN SUPPORTING THE STUDENTS ACADEMICALLY. THIS PROGRAM WILL FOCUS ON THE CNCS FOCUS AREA OF EDUCATION. * THE CNCS INVESTMENT OF $289,896 WILL BE MATCHED WITH $324,653 ($90,000 IN PUBLIC FUNDING AND $234,653 IN PRIVATE FUNDING).
