Description

Community medical wellness centers will establish a survivor of torture (SOT) program to provide comprehensive services for cambodian survivors of torture and family members, including spouses, children, and other relatives aware of and impacted by the stories that their KIN tell. The program aims to address the unique needs of this vulnerable population by offering comprehensive behavioral health services as a gateway for medical, dental, legal, social work, and case management services through a trauma-informed and culturally and linguistically matched approach. Through individualized treatment plans, evidence-based interventions, and community engagement efforts, the program aims to support survivors in their journey towards healing, recovery, and building sustainable social networks of support. Ultimately, the proposed project will enhance the quality of life for survivors or torture and their families, while interrupting the intergenerational cycle of trauma.
