About this award

This $4,000,000 Project Grant award from the Department of Justice's Congressionally Recommended Awards program (CFDA 16.753) supports the Alaska Department of Public Safety's Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (CDVSA) in providing comprehensive victim services across the state of Alaska. The CDVSA uses this funding to sub-award grants to 36 local non-profit, tribal, and direct service provider organizations that deliver critical assistance to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and other crimes. The services provided through this grant include crisis intervention, legal/medical accompaniment, counseling, shelter support, community outreach, and culturally specific aid. This funding is crucial to maintaining stable support for victim services in Alaska, which faces high costs of service delivery due to its challenging geographic landscape. The award period runs from July 1, 2024 through September 30, 2026.

Description
