Description

As the agency reported it.

The tribe seeks to develop a shivwits justice system strategic plan that will guide the development of its tribal public safety department. The tribe does not currently have law enforcement or safety services and relies on washington county for these services to address increased trespassing by non-residents who have physically threatened residents, engaged in drug trafficking, and set up illegal encampments. The tribe's goal in developing a safety department is to prevent trespassing and drug trafficking on the reservation, protect the community, and develop supportive services such as substance use treatment.
