The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women awarded the Nevada Office of the Attorney General $500,000 in funding on April 1, 2026, under the Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies and Enforcement of Protection Orders Program (CFDA 16.590) to improve the criminal justice response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
The award funds three specific deliverables: creation and delivery of a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training curriculum; provision of sexual assault medical forensic examinations in rural communities; and development of best practice guidelines for prosecution of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking cases. Performance runs through March 31, 2029, with work performed in Carson City, Nevada.
