The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women awarded $500,000 to Arise Lawrence County on April 1, 2026, under the Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies and Enforcement of Protection Orders Program (CFDA 16.590). The award funds mobile advocacy for rural domestic violence victims, legal services for victims, and training for district attorneys, judges, clerks, probation and parole officers, and others involved in the criminal justice response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Performance runs through March 31, 2029, with work performed in New Castle, Pennsylvania. The program assists state, local, and tribal governments and courts to improve criminal justice response to these offenses and to advance victim safety and autonomy.
