This $700,000 federal Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women (CFDA 16.589 - Rural Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking Assistance Program) will fund a 36-month project implemented by Satilla Health Foundation, Inc. and its partners, Ruths Cottage and the Patticake House Latino Outreach Program. The project aims to enhance victim safety, improve community responses, and develop collaborative strategies to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in the rural counties of Bacon, Brantley, Charlton, Coffee, Pierce, and Ware, with a proposed expansion into Atkinson and Clinch counties in Georgia. Key activities include expanding organizational capacity, establishing a satellite office, adding a contracted sexual assault nurse examiner, strengthening outreach and services for Hispanic/Latino communities, and providing community training and awareness campaigns. The project will specifically focus on preventing and ending sexual assault in these rural areas.
