THE PROPOSED PROJECT WILL SUPPORT CLOSING THE DIGITAL EQUITY GAP AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A STATEWIDE DIGITAL EQUITY PLAN.THE PROPOSED PROJECT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT PLAN DEVELOPMENT: 1) HIRING A DIGITAL EQUITY PROGRAM MANAGER, EQUIPPING THAT INDIVIDUAL WITH TOOLS AND SUPPORT TO ENSURE SUCCESS IN IMPLEMENTING THE STATE'S DIGITAL EQUITY PLAN; 2) ESTABLISHING A CORE DIGITAL EQUITY PLANNING TEAM OF EIGHT TO TEN MEMBERS, INCLUDING THE STATE'S BEAD PROGRAM LEAD AND EXPERTS WITH LIVED EXPERIENCE TO DESIGN, STEWARD, AND ASSESS PROGRESS AGAINST THE PLAN; 3) CONDUCTING A NEEDS AND ASSESSMENT PLAN; 4) ENGAGE IN A CAMPAIGN TO SOLICIT INPUT FROM RESIDENTS AND LEADERS FROM ACROSS THE STATE. THIS WORK WILL REQUIRE THE SUPPORT OF COMMUNICATIONS EXPERTS, SELECTED THROUGH STANDARD STATE PROCUREMENT PROCESSES. THE PROPOSED PROJECT WILL RESULT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A ROBUST STATE DIGITAL EQUITY PLAN THAT WILL BENEFIT THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT AND PRINCIPALLY UNSERVED AND UNDERSERVED COVERED POPULATIONS STATEWIDE.THE RECIPIENT DOES NOT PLAN TO SUBAWARD FUNDS.
