The Small Business Administration (SBA) Microloan Program has awarded a $167,996 Formula Grant to the Women's Opportunities Resource Center (WORC), a non-profit organization doing business as W.o.r.c. The grant funding, awarded on July 1, 2023, will enable WORC to provide microloans, business training, and technical assistance to start-up, newly established, and growing small business concerns, with a focus on women, low-income, and minority entrepreneurs in underserved communities. As a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), WORC leverages additional funding from the CDFI Fund and the Department of Health and Human Services to support economic development and recovery in disadvantaged areas disproportionately affected by the pandemic. Through this SBA Microloan Program award (CFDA #59.046), WORC will continue to deliver its mission of fostering small business success and expanding access to capital and resources for underserved populations.
