Description
Abstract USDA-nifa animal health and disease research program title: bacterial lipidomics evaluation of equine surfactant in moderate and severe horses non-technical summary: with chronic equine asthma, an environment for bacterial growth is provided. However, lowgrade infections may go undetected with clinical signs but have the potential to contribute toward decreased lung function. IT is our goal to utilize our bacterial lipid analytical platform to monitor for potential bacterial infections in equine asthma. This research has the potential to lead to individualized medical treatments in horses with persistent asthma.
