OHIO'S RREA PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THE FOLLOWING GOALS. GOAL 1 ENSURING HEALTHY FOREST ECOSYSTEMS. DEALING WITH INVASIVES SPECIES INCLUDING INSECTS, MITES AND OTHER ARTHROPODS IMPACTING OHIO'S FORESTS PLANTS AND NON-NATIVE INVASIVE PLANTS THAT CHANGE FOREST STRUCTURE FOR THE FUTURE. GOAL 2 ENHANCING RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ON WORKING FORESTS INCLUDING FOREST STEWARDSHIP AND HEALTH, MANAGEMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY OF FOREST RESOURCES, WEEDS, PATHOGENS AND OTHER PESTS IMPACTING OHIO'S FORESTS, AND WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT ON FOREST RESOURCES. GOAL 3 ENHANCING ECONOMIC BENEFITS INCLUDING NEW AND IMPROVED FOOD PRODUCTS (I.E. MAPLE SYRUP PRODUCTION) AND NEW AND IMPROVED NON-FOOD PRODUCTS (I.E. CHRISTMAS TREES) THE PROGRAM UTILIZES FUNDS IN ORDER TO SUPPORT OUTREACH FOR OHIO'S WOODLAND OWNERS. THESE DEMONSTRATION AREAS WILL INCLUDE SITES WITH INTERPRETIVE SIGNAGE FOR PASSIVE WOODLAND OWNER ACCESS.THE CENTER FOCUS OF THESE FUNDS GOES TO IMPROVING WOODLAND OWNER EDUCATION IN OHIO AND STRIVING TO KEEP THEM UP TO DATE ON CURRENT ISSUES THAT WILL IMPACT THEIR FORESTS.
