APPLICATION PURPOSE: THE PROJECT WILL CONDUCT A FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW FOR TRANSIT ENHANCEMENTS ALONG THE 7.9 MILE 24TH STREET CORRIDOR FROM THE NORTH OMAHA TRANSIT CENTER TO THE METROPOLITAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE SOUTH TRANSIT CENTER.; ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: THE FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT WILL INCLUDE THE EVALUATION OF THE TRAFFIC VOLUMES RIGHT-OF-WAY ACCESS EXISTING LANE CONFIGURATIONS AND OTHER RELEVANT FACTORS. WITH THE INPUT OF A STAKEHOLDER COMMITTEE A FINAL FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT DOCUMENT WILL BE COMPILED AND SUBMITTED TO FTA STATING THE ALTERNATIVES THAT WERE STUDIED AND THE CORRESPONDING EVALUATION CRITERIA.; EXPECTED OUTCOMES: THIS PROJECT WILL HELP ACCELERATE TRANSFORMATIVE CHANGE IN HISTORICALLY DISINVESTED NEIGHBORHOODS ENHANCING COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS IN NORTH AND SOUTH OMAHA TO ESTABLISH A MORE UNIFIED AND ACCESSIBLE REGION.; INTENDED BENEFICIARIES: THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PRIORITIZE SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS ALONG THE CORRIDOR INCLUDING TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES REDUCING SPEEDS AND INCREASING PEDESTRIAN ACTIVITY.
