The Department of Education Nebraska (NDE) has been awarded a $3,341,547 Formula Grant by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) under the Special Education-Grants for Infants and Families program (CFDA 84.181). This 14-month grant, effective from July 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025, will support NDE's efforts to implement and maintain a comprehensive, coordinated, and multidisciplinary early intervention system for infants and toddlers with disabilities in the state of Nebraska. The grant funding will enable NDE to deliver a wide range of critical developmental services, including developmental screenings, assessments, individualized family service plans, specialized instruction, therapies, assistive technology, and family support services. NDE plans to sub-award portions of the funding to local education agencies, health departments, universities, and non-profit organizations to ensure the effective delivery of these services at the community level.
