Description

Without routine management, wetland habitat will be impacted by natural succession, invasive species, and other threats which degrade habitat quality. Further, IT is not practical to assume that the division can conserve and enhance wildlife and their habitats without the assistance of like-minded conservation organizations and agencies. This routine operations, management, and maintenance project includes objectives designed to support wetland wildlife habitat management on division-managed or agreement lands. These objectives include (1) planning and administration, (2) wetland habitat management, and (3) partnership projects. Activities are dependent on weather, staffing, budget, and other available resources. Personnel and non-personnel expenses were determined based on the consolidation of numerous individual projects in each district. Project evaluation and reporting are conducted through an annual performance report with contributions from the wildlife advisory team.division-led or partner-led wetland management will maintain quality wetland habitat for sustainable wetland wildlife populations and provide wildlife related recreational opportunities. Existing partnerships with like-minded conservation organizations and agencies have been strengthened and new ones developed resulting in greater amounts of wildlife and its habitat protected, restored and/or enhanced.
