The Federal Transit Administration awarded the City of Madera $194,503 on August 12, 2026, under the Buses and Bus Facilities Formula Grant Program (CFDA 20.526) to fund technology enhancements and bus procurement for Madera Metro fixed-route and dial-a-ride/ADA complementary paratransit transit services.
The City of Madera will use $111,508 of the award for technology expenses including mobile applications, GTFS software, and related systems supporting Madera Metro operations. The bus costs $185,142.44; the prior award CA-2020-259-01 carried a remaining balance of $94,763, with the new allocation bridging the difference.
