The Environmental Protection Agency Region 2 awarded the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe $793,881 on January 1, 2026, under the Performance Partnership Grants program (CFDA 66.605) to fund environmental protection and program capacity building activities through December 31, 2030.
The Tribe's Environment Division will develop and implement environmental programs addressing air quality protection (ambient and indoor), surface water quality improvement, nonpoint source pollution reduction, pesticides program development and enforcement, brownfields remediation, lead-based paint mitigation, solid waste implementation and recycling, and general program capacity building. Deliverables include full development of various environmental programs, implementation of newly developed and existing programs, development of enforcement programs, updating of environmental codes, policies and protocols, and outreach and education activities in the Akwesasne community. No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Performance Partnership Grants allow tribes to combine funds from multiple eligible programs into a single consolidated workplan and budget, reducing administrative requirements while providing flexibility to direct resources to environmental and public health priorities. Place of performance is St Regis, New York.
