The Lone Pine Paiute-Shoshone Tribe received a $114,840 Formula Grant award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the agency's Training, Investigations, and Special Purpose Activities of Federally-Recognized Indian Tribes Consistent With the Clean Air Act (CAA), Tribal Sovereignty and the Protection and Management of Air Quality program. The objective of this one-year project ending September 30, 2022 is to help build the Tribe's capacity to assess air quality conditions and develop strategies to address issues. Key products and services to be delivered include continued strategic planning and evaluation, compliance assistance, air emissions monitoring, rulemaking participation, and other program activities to support the Tribe's efforts to understand, assess, and protect air quality on tribal lands.
