About this award
The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Community Living awarded the Idaho Commission on Aging $2.484 million on October 1, 2025, under the National Family Caregiver Support Program (CFDA 93.052), a formula grant delivering multifaceted systems of support services for family caregivers and older relative caregivers throughout Idaho through September 30, 2027.
The program provides information to caregivers about available services; assistance to caregivers in gaining access to those services; individual counseling and caregiver training to assist caregivers in making decisions and solving problems relating to their caregiving roles; respite care to temporarily relieve caregivers from their responsibilities; and supplemental services on a limited basis to complement care provided by caregivers.
Idaho Commission on Aging, the state agency on aging, distributes allocations downward through an intrastate funding formula to Area Agencies on Aging and community service providers. Four sub-recipients received Title III-E allocations effective July 1, 2026: College of Southern Idaho (Central region), North Idaho College (North region), Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership, Inc. (East region), and Area 3 Senior Services Agency (Southwest region). These organizations deliver family caregiver support programming at the sub-state and regional level to vulnerable elderly populations and their caregivers across Idaho.
