THE FIRST NATIONS WOMENS ALLIANCE (FNWA) IS THE TRIBAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT COALITION SERVING FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED TRIBES AND TRIBAL ORGANIZATIONS LOCATED IN THE STATE OF NORTH DAKOTA. THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS AND THIS FUNDING, FNWA WILL: 1) SUSTAIN A STABLE, EFFECTIVE STAFF AND STRUCTURE OF FNWA BY MAINTAINING CORE OPERATING FUNCTIONS; 2) PROVIDE SERVICES AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO OUR MEMBERSHIP TO BUILD CAPACITY TO SERVE VICTIMS; 3) SUPPORT THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF STAFF, ADVOCATES, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WORKING TO END VIOLENCE IN THE NORTH DAKOTA TRIBAL COMMUNITIES; 4) COORDINATE WITH THE NORTH DAKOTA ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE AND TRIBAL LEADERS, ADVOCATES AND FAMILIES TO ESTABLISH AN INDIGENOUS HUMAN TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE WITH A FOCUS ON SEX TRAFFICKING OF INDIGENOUS PERSONS IN BOTH RURAL AND URBAN SETTINGS; 5) MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS WITH CHILD ADVOCACY CENTERS WHICH ADDRESS CHILD AND ADOLESCENT SEXUAL ABUSE; AND 6) ENHANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION AND PREVENTION EFFORTS TO ENSURE A FOCUS ON SEXUAL ASSAULT WHEN RELEVANT AND APPROPRIATE.
