This $28,350,000 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (CFDA 66.468) formula grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will provide capitalization funding to the New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) to operate its state drinking water infrastructure loan program. The grant emphasizes projects focused on the identification, planning, design, and replacement of lead service lines to reduce exposure to lead in drinking water across New Mexico. NMFA will also use the funding for technical assistance to small drinking water systems, program administration, and other eligible set-aside activities. NMFA, as the state's designated infrastructure bank, will deliver low-interest loans to municipalities and public water systems for water treatment plant upgrades, water line replacements, and other drinking water infrastructure projects that improve public health protections statewide.
