The purpose of the award is for PID to construct upgrades to the conveyance facility that connects the San Joaquin River to the Delta Mendota Canal, expanding the conveyance capacity from 35 CFS to 195 CFS. The project will increase flexibility in water deliveries and water trading, support habitat restoration and aquatic species protection, and assist with Reclamation's drought plan by recirculating water for a drought pool. Key tasks include an appraisal study, final design services, and environmental compliance activities. This infrastructure project aims to enhance water supply reliability and drought resilience for agricultural, municipal, and environmental uses in the region.
