THIS PROGRAM SEEKS TO UTILIZE QUALIFIED NON-PROFIT YOUTH AND VETERAN SERVING ORGANIZATIONS TO CARRY OUT APPROPRIATE NATURAL AND CULTURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, VOLUNTEER SERVICE AND EDUCATION PROJECTS ON DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR LANDS THROUGH AUTHORIZED NATIONAL PARK SERVICE PROGRAMS. THESE INTERNSHIPS SUPPORT MISSION CRITICAL WORK RELATED TO RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND VISITOR SERVICES. INTERNS WILL ASSIST WITH RESEARCHING AND COMPILING MUSEUM MANAGEMENT RECORDS TO HELP WITH SURVEYING THE CURRENT CONDITIONS OF THE MUSEUM COLLECTION AT THE PARK AS RELATED TO CATALOGED RECORDS, ACCESSIONED RECORDS, LOANS, ARCHIVES, BACKLOG MATERIALS, STORAGE SPACE, EXHIBIT SPACE, PLANNING AND PROGRAMING, ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS, AND SECURITY, FIRE PROTECTION AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT. THESE INTERN PROJECTS WILL ULTIMATELYHELP PARK VISITORS CONNECT WITH THE HISTORY OF THE PARK THROUGH HISTORIC PHOTOGRAPHS, PERSONAL STORIES, AND PRIMARY SOURCES SHARED ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND IN EXHIBITS.
