Description
Partnering and communicating HIV awareness and prevention through the center for black health & equity network - the center for black health & equity (the center) will utilize our existing multi-sector national health equity network to disseminate digitally and at in-person or virtual events, CDC?s let?s stop HIV together (together) messages and campaign materials. Through the partnering and communicating together through the center network program (pact-CN) we will target together campaign messages and community interventions for african americans who bear a disproportionate burden of the effects of HIV. Over the course of this grant, the pact-CN project will: 1) forge strong partnerships and linkages between CDC-funded HIV programs and african american communities; 2) develop an infrastructure that facilitates a reciprocal transfer of knowledge between african american communities and CDC-funded HIV programs; and 3) facilitate a national dialogue on the importance of african americans being screened for HIV and eliminating stigma. The HIV virus. In addition to weekly communication with the center?s strategic public health partners through email blasts, facebook, instagram and twitter posts, the center will host a series of google chats, instagram and facebook lives with national HIV experts and the general public to continue sharing information on HIV and its impact on african american communities. In collaboration with our media and outreach partners such as the black aids institute, and the black leadership advisory committee commission of crescent care health systems, ACI 3 media, and health in her HUE, we will also facilitate HIV targeted dissemination at the community, state and national level of together messaging through major in-person and virtual events. Our partners will work with US to bolster existing partnerships and develop new relationships with state health departments, local government agencies, faith-based institutions, ballroom spaces, and historically black colleges and universities (hbcus). Our coordinated efforts will increas e HIV awareness among the general public and reduce HIV infections among african americans with a specific emphasis on MSM, trans women, heterosexual cisgender women. This project is intended to reach eleven of the priority jurisdictions that the ending the HIV epidemic (EHE) plan has identified. As a national black health equity network with multifaceted partners from various sectors of government, civic, faith-based and local entities, the center is ideally positioned to raise awareness and educate our community of the importance of HIV screening and the risk of this deadly disease in african american communities.
