Description
Strengthening vaccine-preventable disease prevention and response - the strengthening vaccine-preventable disease prevention and response grant application is a collaborative project between the centers of disease control and prevention (CDC) and the texas department of state health services (DSHS) infectious disease prevention (IDP) division immunizations section (texas immunization program) that continues to build upon the ongoing efforts of the vaccines for children (VFC) program. The project focuses on protecting all texans from vaccine-preventable diseases using the following seven priority strategies: strengthen program infrastructure and management, increase vaccine access, improve vaccination equity, promote vaccine confidence and demand, enhance data and evaluation, strengthen program support for partners, and enhance vaccination response readiness. The project consists of three components: component 1: core, component 2: rapid small-scale response to vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks, and component 3: rapid large-scale response to vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks. The texas immunization program consults with the CDC for funding approval before utilizing components 2 and 3 funds.
