NATURAL RESOURCES INCLUDING KODIAK BROWN BEAR, PACIFIC SALMON, AND SEABIRDS HAVE GREAT SOCIOECOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE TO THE KODIAK ARCHIPELAGO (ARCHIPELAGO). INVASIVE PLANTS AND ANIMALS PRESENT ON AND ADJACENT TO THE ARCHIPELAGO THREATEN THE WELLBEING OF THE ARCHIPELAGOS NATURAL RESOURCES. CAPACITY TO ADDRESS THE THREATS FROM THESE INVASIVE SPECIES IS LACKING.
