About this award

This $600,000 cooperative agreement awarded by the U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Region 1 on July 7, 2022 will provide passage for migratory and anadromous fish in Johnson Creek. Trout Unlimited, Inc. will correct passage impediments at two creek crossings—State Route 97 and Greenacres—restoring access to approximately nine stream miles of habitat. Replacing outdated infrastructure at these sites will remedy the final three barriers within the lower 12 miles of the stream, building on seven years of previous passage work. The project objectives align with the stated goals of the Fish and Wildlife Service's Fish and Wildlife Management Assistance grant program (CFDA 15.608), which provides funding to implement approved State and Interstate Aquatic Nuisance Species Management Plans and support other fish and wildlife conservation activities.
