Description
This project will improve habitat for native brook trout and other native species by restoring natural river processes and reconnecting approximately 17 miles of upstream, coldwater aquatic habitat on beavertail creek by replacing two impaired road stream crossings on south prentiss BAY road in chippewa county the existing crossings disrupt fish passage and cause erosion problems, especially during periods where the creek overtops the road new crossing structures will be appropriately sized and will meet or exceed bankfull channel width, providing aquatic organism passage to upstream habitat during all lifecycle movements a third beavertail creek crossing will be replaced at the beavertail creek state forest road which will add value to the project, but funding for this crossing replacement will be provided by other sources
