THE AIM OF THIS PROJECT IS TO ASSESS THE FEASIBILITY OF A COMMUNITY-WIDE REUSABLE TO-GO CONTAINER PROGRAM, INCLUDING A RAPID PILOT TESTING A PRODUCT-SERVICE SYSTEM PROTOTYPE. THIS PROJECT WILL RESULT IN SOURCE REDUCTION OF SINGLE-USE TO-GO CONTAINERS, LAUNCH AN EFFICIENT CONTAINER REUSE SYSTEM, AND IMPROVE MARKETS BY REMOVING CONTAMINATED TO-GO CONTAINERS FROM RECYCLING STREAMS. PROJECT OUTREACH WILL INCLUDE ELEMENTS OF COMMUNITY BASED SOCIAL MARKETING. SUSTAINABILITY LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENTS (SLCA) WILL BE PERFORMED ON THREE (3) POTENTIAL CONTAINER TYPES, INCLUDING POLYPROPYLENE, ALUMINUM, AND SILICONE PROTOTYPES, AS WELL AS A HIGHER LEVEL SLCA OF THE PRODUCT-SERVICE SYSTEM.
