About this award

The Department of Agriculture Forest Service Washington Office Acquisitions awarded a Cooperative Agreement valued at $6,423,431 to Loamist, CO. on December 5, 2025, under the Inflation Reduction Act Hazardous Fuels Transportation Assistance program (CFDA 10.728).

The award funds transportation and logistics services to haul economically constrained hazardous fuels—including sawlogs, biomass, slash, and mill residuals—from 65 active forest management projects on or adjacent to National Forest System lands in California to forest products and energy facilities. This funding addresses materials that would otherwise remain onsite or piled in log landings due to long haul distance, low product value, or market loss from mill closures. Loamist will coordinate two direct grants and four cooperative agreements to facilitate the transportation of approximately 1,100,240 tons of timber and 178,957 MBF of lumber, while reducing wildfire risk on and adjacent to NFS lands. The work aligns with Executive Orders 14225 (Expanding Timber Production), 14223 (Timber and Lumber Imports), and 14154 (Energy).

The period of performance runs through December 31, 2028. Loamist is a minority-owned, for-profit small disadvantaged business headquartered in Berkeley, California, and is registered to receive federal awards through SAM.gov.
